Inquiry – Food Technology

Today Mr Eames Introduced Term One's Big Idea. 

Big Idea: Students will understand what is in their food and gain the power to make informed choices in relationship to what they eat’.

In groups we discussed and brainstormed what this unit of work would involve. We also used the brainstorm to generate key questions.

We had an excellent discussion on what the current issues and challenges relating to food and food technology are. We shared viewpoints and debated a number of issues.

We also looked at the Pukerua Bay Inquiry model, which was developed last year to provide a purposeful pathway for learning.
