Wellington's
first Arbor Day planting was in Greytown in the Wairarapa
on 3rd July 1890. We have continued to keep up this tradition at Pukerua Bay
School. Yesterday was the planned day for planting. However, with the consistent
downpours throughout the day, not only did we miss the chance to see the
Transit of Venus we also did not get a chance to plant. So today we managed to
get some planting done in the planter boxes outside of Te Motu.
