As part of our maths programme we have been focusing on money and financial literacy.
We have discussed and explored a range of
topics including:
- What is money?
- Why is it important to be financially literate?
- Working with decimals.
- The history of money in New Zealand
- Needs and Wants.
- Budgeting
- Hidden costs
- Mobile plans and analysing needs
- Incorporating financial literacy into our unit, looking at currency conversion and spending in Spain.
We were also really lucky to have a
representative from ASB run a workshop with the students. He was awesome
and covered a huge amount in an hour session.
