Spending up in Spain - On-line Challenge

Today it was all computers in action.
It was so good to have the extra computers in the class (two extra computers provided through the money raised at the Gala.) It enabled us to do some serious on-line exploration.

In teams students had to ‘Spend up large in Spain’.
Using the Internet students had to find items to purchase, places to go and things to do and see in Spain.
As a challenge, points were allocated for each thing teams listed. (Providing they had a Spanish point of difference)
Teams also had to keep track of their spending (in Euros)
Mr Eames also threw in a few extra challenges e.g. Include a place designed by Gaudi.

The last task was to add up the amount spent and use an on-line converter to convert from Euro to NZ dollars.

Focus skills - Working with others, communication, using search engines, questioning, financial literacy, skimming and scanning, note taking and learning about Spain.
